There can not be any modern hotel without a PABX system installed. PABX is must for any hotel for conducting various operations and it offers a great service to a guest without which no guest would like to stay in the hotel.
PABX systems now a days come with many hotel specific features. These features are programmable at the time of installation of the PABX. Here are few features which are hotel specific:-
1. Check in and Check out facility
This feature allows front desk office of the hotel to check in a guest into hotel. After this many features in the hotel room will would be activated as per the room category. For example, some deluxe room may have facility to make international calls directly without operator while normal rooms may not have that facility. This is very useful feature which is widely used in PBX system for hotels.
2. Automatic phone features
Hotel PABX systems can be used to do many menial jobs like automatic message waiting, wake up call, do not disturb etc. Auto attendant facility, FAX facility, voice mail facility are few more smart feaures which can be offered to guests through Hotel PABX systems.
3. Front Desk Management
Hotel PABX system comes with a front desk management system either PC based or telephone operator console based which is used by operator to perform various tasks easily. Using this console, one can update, monitor room status like occupied, cleaned. It can be used to print out call details room wise, calculate telephone bills.
4. Third Party Hotel management Software Integration
Hotel PBX offer easy integration with many third party hotel management software, be it accounting, property management software, various hotel management software.
Apart from offering telephony service to guests like room to room dial, dialing for room service, house keeping etc, hotel PBX systems can offer many value added features to guests and utility to hotel management. Least cost routing ( LCR ) is one such feature which can benefit guests directly.
Almost all PBX manufacturer in India offers hotel mode of operation in their PBX systems. Many have developed special model to serve hotels specifically. These models provide many advanced features for benefit of operations of hotels as well as provide great services to its guests.
